April "showers" bring May flowers...

So it's April 3rd, the 13th day of spring and it is snowing outside. I remember about a month ago when I was looking forward to the days when I didn't have to wear nylons and sweaters to work to keep warm. Well work ends in a week and a half and I still am wearing sweaters and socks and nylons to work- no spring dresses and short-sleeved shirts, no skirts and sandals, still closed-toed shoes, wool socks, long pants, and sweaters. I still go to work with a scarf and coat, all bundled up. There is something wrong with this weather! Last year when we were in Virginia I remember it would start warming up when spring started- when every other state in the U.S. should become warmer! I remember a few cold days after spring started but for the most part it would constantly be mild pretty warm weather- and I could wear skirts and capris to school with sandals and short-sleeved shirts! So why is that? I guess the altitude is different here and so it should be colder- winter should be longer, but I guess I will never get used to that. Spring was always such a dramatic change from winter in Virginia. At the end of winter we would start seeing our daffodils blossom and our tulips popping up. The trees in our yard would sprout green leaves and our fruit trees would blossom cheery white flowers. Here it is, April 3rd and still gloomy and wet with no blossoms or green-budded trees to cheer you up. Maybe that's why I've been so gloomy all winter. Too bad I go back to school in Idaho in a couple of weeks and it won't be much better... I was up there last weekend and it was so windy and cold! The nerve! I want it to be warm again!

I like how Spring for you is all about the wardrobe! :)

Yeah, I remember how spring in Utah was pretty brief. I think that's pretty typical of desert climates; long summers and long winters and not much transition! Don't worry though, it WILL warm up soon! And you'll get to wear all the spring dresses and short sleeved shirts and sandals you want!

Michelle, you're going to love it up in Idaho when the weather gets warm. From what I remember the two times I've been there (April/May and some time in the summer) it was BEAUTIFUL. But of course, no sandals at BYU-I! Hahaha... Yep. I sigh too as I look at the window at falling snow. Some day it WILL get warmer!!!

If it makes you feel any better it's been raining and about 45 degrees here in Virginia. Today it felt like it might as well be snowing as raining. The blossoms are pretty though and the grass is very green. You can come back here any time remember!
